How do you guys do maintenance on the roof of your trailers? Is it strong enough to support a persons weight? Thanks

I've been told that, as long as you step on the rivet lines that transverse the roof, you should be okay.There is a weight limit but, darn if I know what it is. 200 or 250 lbs??(HELP here on this one ANDY?) For me, I'm not that brave. I'd prefer a platform staging of sorts.

I've already had one rear section panel replaced due to a RV tech stepping on it! Cost the RV dealer slightly over a 1k dollars for the repair. I'll give them credit..they paid the bill within 2days of my posting it to them. And this was after 2yrs delay in finally getting it lined up at the A/S factory.

Bottom line..yes, you can walk on your roof but.....

Footnote: Plse don't do like what the RV Tech did with mine..This &*%$#@ put a ladder at the rear end and, step over onto the keynote panel..You'll end up with the same thing I did if you do.

Walking on the roof is OK, PROVIDED THAT YOU DO NOT, walk forward of the first main bow or rearward of the last main bow. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL DAMAGE THE SEGMENTS. The main bows connect the front and rear shells the the body.Many years ago, Airstream had a photo of a 30 foot trailer, with 30 employees on the roof.
It's like anything else, be reasonable, and use soft shoes.
"IF THE ROOF IS WET OR DAMP, DON'T GO THERE. YOU MAY BE VERY SORRY IF YOU DO AS IT WILL BE VERY SLIPPERY." GUARANTEED.
