how about the snowroof systems users?
found some few threads of members that used it, wondering how is holding up and how does it looks now...
Anyone out there that used it?

It's never been washed, except by nature.

We used Kool Seal two and a half years ago. It looks good and there is no chalking so far. It took about 2 quarts to do 2 coats (27 foot). Sal

i used KoolSeal on a mobile home i have as rental property.. it had the old type that was the aluminum colored stuff that was mainly used 10 +years ago. I got the Kool Seal Pro koolseal.com: Product Detail (Premium White Elastomeric Roof Coating) that is warrantied for 10 yrs and reflects some 90% of solar..

The folks living in the MH have told me the place stays cooler now and rain falling is less noticeable as well.. I got 5 gals at Sherwin Williams Paint store for $86 plus tax.. they had to order it in which took 3 day.. every where else the cost of 5 gals was 180 plus..

i just applied over the old coating making sure it was clean and dry.. not sure how it would do over a good clear coat . might give it a good light sand job for better stick.. maybe other that have used it will chime in on how they did and the results.

Gloss or flat it does not matter. As long as the light leaves it does not matter if it is specular or diffuse. The emissivity being high is what gives white paint the COOL factor not the gloss factor. White reflects about 90% of the heat but it is also good at radiating the heat it does absorb away from your roof. Aluminum and White paint absorb about the same amount of heat but the white radiates much more of the heat away. You don't need to worry about chalking but you do need to worry about mildew. Chalking is good because you always have a new clean white surface. The bad is that it may make white streaks on your trailer.

If is possible we will like some feedback from owners about the "gloss" or "flat" white roof, how does it look after a couple of seasons?

I bought the product this summer 2013. I have picture on my computer at home.. currently on big island till oct 5..

I just washed the roof top with dish detergent, that helps get any oil off, rinsed good and let dry.. a couple drops on water will do fine.

the stuff is like somewhat thick paint and i found the best way to apply is using a 3/4" ? nap roller.. check the direction it will say the length to use..

The instructions say to do first coat going north to south, allow that coat to completely dry and do second coat going east to west.

i did first coat one afternoon and had to came back next day to do second coat. be sure to wear sunglasses when doing as the amount of sun reflected back will blind you if a non cloudy day. my first day was sunny and it was a bear.. luckily, i was going over the old stuff so not too bad.. the second day was worse,, lucky it was overcast but still bright.

aloha..

what about this Gaco Roof?
I know its 100% silicone and silicone and AL don't really like each other but the construction supply place swore about it and for AL roofing.
Is it the clear coat or the kind of AL the issue with our Airstreams?
Cool Video

I used a product called Hyperseal. I had it left over from using it on two commercial buildings. It goes on very easy and holds up very well. I've had it for 5 years with no issues on one of the two roofs, and for the last year on the Argosy. When it eventually starts to deteriorate - they all do - all I will do is rough it up and apply another coat. Hypersealinc.com
Good stuff.

On the road now and can't do any pics, but prep was just a good scrubbing and neutralizing with vinegar just before the paint. Sal
