Vent leak

This summer while camping it really rained all night first time to stay in the trailer while it poured. Noticed a puddle about the size of a quarter on the floor under the front vent. I have a feeling it has always been there and just didn't notice it. It can rain all night and the drip is dry by afternoon that is how small it is.
I went up on top and added par 635 around the entire vent as it looks pretty good and flat nothing like the fan vent. I replaced the gasket. It still has the minute drip. I really don't want to take the whole vent out as for me this is a major job(HUM) Any suggestions? I redid my fan vent but it was very obvious that it was bad this one just looks so good I hate to take it out and thought someone may have a few suggestions to try first thanks Judy

Hi Judy ~

While I agree you should replace the foam gasket, you should also get replacement lifters so the cover can be cranked down tight and compress the foam when closed. How is the cover attached to the frame now?

vent leak

I did replace the gasket. 1 lifter is there and I have the other side wired down and it is tight against the cover. I have the lifter but wanted to take care of the leak before I replace.
thanks

Maybe a different gasket would help. Either the foam gasket that is recommended or on like comes on the vent assembly shown. Put it on in one piece so there is only one seam....

Vent Gasket for Solardome SKU2977 - $0.45 : ODMRV , Out-of-Doors Mart

Elixir crank-up vent 31-1998 [31-1998] - $32.95 : ODMRV , Out-of-Doors Mart

Seal all the way around the outside where the vent is riveted to the skin.I had a tricky leak in the same vent.Never did replace the foam, but the outside sealant did stop the leak.
