instead of patching the hole, you could consider using it to install a different kind of port, like cable TV.

well right now water is leaking from it ...i think its going down the inside skin and coming out on top of the vistas view window opening so i was just going to patch it.... i think the vent is leaking too... i was just going to re seal everything on the roof... the floor also had a hole in right in front of the couch and on the door side.

what year is your coach?
Are you sure its not your Vista Views leaking? Simple fix to those is vulkem around the glass where it meets the plastic lip of the gasket. I actually cut the lip off and put a nice bead around it.... no more leaks there for me.
I can tell you that anywhere you "think" you have a leak, might be something totally different. I've been chasing leaks in my empty shell for 3 months. Raining tonight and found more..... Most were the rivets from shell to each rib on the roof. Some were the Vista Views. Surprisingly, not many are the windows/ doors or vents.

My antenna leaks, too. However, I have a new-in-the-box old stock replacement crank up antenna. My plan is to take off the TV part, and use the elevating arm to mount a couple of YAGI long-range WiFi antennas. Like so:
Amazon.com: Superbat 16dBi 2.4GHz Wifi Yagi Antenna with RP-SMA Male Wlan Long Range: Electronics

If you're talking about the plexi in the middle of the vent cover... I think that's factory. I have 2 with plexi middles and one that is solid aluminum. The PO taped up the plexi because they are rotted and cracked. That said, they still leaked, but I think you'll find that the plexi vents will leak straight down... i.e. not inside the skin. It cant go inside the skin because of the way it mounts. However if the vent "frame" is leaking it could head down the inside of the skin.
If your antenna isn't leaking, you might just leave it in case you, or a future owner wants to use it. Those old skyliner antennas still work well.

We would like to use our original antenna but we can't find where it comes into the interior. We have looked all over. Any ideas? 1973 safari 23'.
If we rip it off, where can I get a piece of aluminum to cover the hole. Home Depot used to carry it but it no longer does.

Thanks a bunch. No home center near here sells it so I will order some. We don't watch tv anyway! Fortunately the little flat screen tv on a bracket that came with the unit plays DVDs!
I do plan to use vulkem. Should I sand the top and patch so it has tooth for the vulkem to hold?

Not necessary. Just clean is good.
