Rear roof panel

While having the rear fantastic fan replace the local Rv repair shop stepped on the rear panel and it’s a huge dent They didn’t say anything and I just discovered it Is there anyway to pop out a dent The Airstream dealership said it would be 900 for parts and 1600 Labor if I could pop it out would save a bunch The local Rv shop is not taking responsibility but it was not like that when we took it in Any type suction cup it loooks it it would pop out Click image for larger version

Unfortunately, aluminum does not have a "memory" like steel so, no, it won't pop out. You could remove the end covers inside your rig and try to gently roll it out or try the "inner tube and wet/dry vacuum" method from the outside. In either case, it won't be perfect and will be noticeable to a future prospective buyer.

The only way to properly repair it is to replace the panel. The quote you got is pretty reasonable.

Most of that will pop out, whether from the inside by pulling interior panels, or by using suction devices or glue on pins.

There are places where the metal will be raised from stretching, if it were mine I would get those closer to right by hammering them down with the palm of my hand.

Maybe try a paintless dent repair firm. A good one could probably do a lot to mitigate that damage.

I would consider taking the RV shop to small claims court if they will not pony up for the repair. They will have insurance coverage for their business and this type of issue. Then it will be properly repaired.

How long ago was it that the fan was installed?

I ask because it looks like water has been pooling in the dent to the left side of the the photo long enough to make a mark.

What Dave said. Shop insurance claim. Insist upon it. That's a panel replacement. Half repairs for their mistake shouldn't be in play.

I would look into paintless dent repair. My local Airstream dealer referred me to a local guy and I can say without reservation that I was amazed by his work. If you can find someone reputable, it will be significantly cheaper than panel replacement and much less intrusive. All work was done from the outside of the unit. Unfortunately, I did not take any before and after pictures but I am attaching one I found on the internet which is representative of my experience.

The good news is you cant see it from the ground, which means if you get the ugly part of the dent out it would be cool enough.

The ugly stuff wont be hard to get out. Find a paintless repair guy. That should be a cheap way out with satisfactory results.
I have been wondering, what is that other stuff on your roof?
