plumbing vent covers

One of my persistent leaks is down the sewer vents in my trailer, and I'd like to install these on the two pipes through the roof of the trailer

Metal Roof Pipe Cover

To keep rain water from getting down the pipes. The vent pipes have shaken apart over the years, and actually, I found that two had never been glued. They appear to be the orginal ABS, with black piping and gray fittings. The floor under the bathroom had been replaced by the previous owner and it's my turn now, ugh. I wondered if the covers would have been something installed originally?

Are your covers the square TeePee type with the open hole in the top? I am going to modify mine and put a hat on it so leaks won't be a problem.

My 64 Bambi II does not have any vent pipe covers at all. Both the vent pipes are sticking up just above the roof level about 1/2 inch or so. The covers you linked too might be just what I need. The reviews are interesting, especially the last one with directions on how to properly install.

Oh cool, glad it was of some help to someone else. I have to work on the plumbing vents- they are leaking terribly today, we're having a huge storm. The black tank is now a gray tank, we use a composting toilet, so the venting isn't quite the same...

I think '64 is the best year.

Someone on this forum found aluminum vent covers. That is what I went with on my Bambi II. They polished up nicely. The ones from VTS are galvanized. I bought a pair of them & changed my mind after seeing the aluminum ones.

Sadly, I can't find where I purchased these. I know it was a mobile home supplier, from Florida, I believe. As I said, someone on this forum put it out there, so with some searching , you might find it.

Hey Becky, that's awesome, and exactly what I want. The galvanized ones would rust quickly here. I'll see what I can find, thanks!

I just took a look through my receipts & found it! They are from Mobile Home Depot, Inc. in Ft. Myers, FL. Mobile Home Depot - Your Mobile Home Parts Warehouse I think I phoned in the order. The vents were $9.99 each. (keeping track of things can pay off some times!)

I'm sure I called my order in. The receipt was hand written. Just tell them that you read about the vents on the Airstream forum & they'll know what you're talking about. That's what I did....(it's all coming back to me). Call the one in Ft. Myers, 239-543-3300. It's a 2" vent cap
