New Vents???

I have a 1974 ambassador. I have an issue with my front vent. I think the crank is bent and I can't get the cover all the way down. Similar situation with the other vents. I have considered putting in new vents with remotes but I know there are size differences and I will have to cut the aluminum. Additionally, I think I will have to give up my lighting/fan combo in favor of a "fan only unit". If worst comes to worst I think I will be able to replace the crank. Has anyone done this kind of repair? Has anyone replaced the vents? If so, with what type? Did you have to retro-fit the new vent? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Dave

Dave.

Some parts are still available for the older vents.

The bend in the bracket can be corrected.

It was caused by forcing the vent to close harder than it should.

Can you post a photo?

Andy
