leaky 1967 Streamline

Hello,
I am the proud new papa of a 67 streamline and I'm noticing that when the rain come heavy ( I live in New Orleans ) that the original ceiling vents in the front and in the bathroom drip fairly steadily and the central lines of rivets from front to back show signs of moisture. Can I seal the whole roof, tar style? If so what product is best for the job? Or is there a better way? Thanks for the help.

Captain trolleys is good for loose rivets and cracks. Parbond is good for larger cracks as well. If you coat the roof get it leak tight first then coat with white which will make the trailer much cooler inside. Make sure the vents are not plastic that is cracked.

We used the seam sealer that's silver from the Airstream store to seal all of our seams. Picked the old sealer out and resealed. It's a b_tch but it seals it like new. After that we covered the entire roof with this. I believe you can purchase it in a grey but we chose white since we live in Florida. It lowered the temp inside our Avion at least 15 degrees on a summer day. It is easy to install, just paint it on and it seals the entire roof. Thanks for the info. Do you guys think that the leaks at the vents are coming from there or coming from another spot and just finding an exit there? How can I check to find the source of the leak?

Perry has it right on the money re: make sure vent plastic is not cracked. Ours are cracked and we have bought two new ones one is already in and looks so pretty. We believe that is the source our leaks. To Dusty: go on the roof, remove all old caulk and look under there to see if the base is broken and cracked. Given the age of yours, it is probably ready for replacement. Dear Vintage, thanks for information re:white roof. What exactly did you put on there? Brand and source? How many gallons will we need? For 34' AS. I just saw at the end of your post EPDM coatings. Is that what you recommend? Thanks for all info!
