Bambi Roof Vent

The roof vent on my 61 Bambi took a leave of absence during a wind storm north of Toronto and is believed to be somewhere in Nova Scotia. It's 14" X 26" fiberglass with a domed shape. Any out there?

Vintage Trailer Supply sells a "plastic" replacement. I made a mold and made my own F/G replacement for my 1964 Globe Trotter - it is probably the only way you'll get a F/G replacement. As a side-note - I always put a small "bungee" cord between the winder knobs to prevent the hatch from opening while underway.

I have an 2018 Bambi and am amazed that Airstream chose the cheapest version of Fantastic fan to put in this. It would have been great to have the thermostatically controlled model for a few bucks more

Has anyone changed the basic model Fantastic fan to an upgraded model by just changing the guts

Yes, I swapped out the guts of the basic Fantastic Fan installed by Airstream for a more capable version - remote control, thermostatic control and reversible. It was relatively quick and easy and did not involve disturbing the seal to the roof. I did need to cut wire and crimp new connectors. The fan manufacturer was helpful in guiding me on which model and parts needed. Upgrade kits are available and can be purchased on Amazon.
