moho bumper replacement

After backing into a number of low riding bandits over the years, I could not
take it any more...Andy got me a bumper, whoa, no holes drilled? After doing
some measuring, I realized all our outfits are "one-off" and holes don't line
up as assembly line products do. So I measured, measured, measured my
trashed bumper, thought about it for about a week, those bumpers will set
you back almost $ 500.00, so you screw it up, there is no getting back, Loretta. Bought brand new 5/8" & 3/4" drill bits, made a bench for my Delta
drill press, took a "Sharpie" pen & marked the holes for the bumper on the
inside & transfered to the outside locations for drilling. Drilled small holes,
re-checked, put masking tape on the drilling area (the glue in the tape helps),
took a deep breath & drilled the tops first. Put the bumper back on to make
sure it was right, put the bolts in to make sure the bottom measurements
were right & drilled the bottom. The bumper guards are less stressfull, though
hard to align because of the curve. The larger holes help align everything.
I would not try this at home without a drill press (I did have to "adjust" one
hole). Not for the timid, but who's timid on this site?

Nice job Mike! Looks like you got it right the first time!

My mom always used to joke about how my dad would measure something once, cut twice and it would still be to short....... (in really he wasn't that bad )

From Inland R.V., Airstream had it made & sent it direct. Yup, about $ 470.00.

Andy,

Do you have a "limited" supply of these bumpers or do you have a source to have replacements made should your current stock run out?

Just thinking about the future......

Brad

Those bumpers, we are promised, will continue to be available for the foreseeable future.

hello again I have a 2 questions? I now own a 77 argosy 28' moho, it has a straight bumper front and back, I was wondering could a wraparound bumper which I have seen on the 76's fit without too much trouble and Andy how much are these bumpers? and secondly will the cast aluminum rear 3 light assembly found on my 77 sovereign fit onto the argosy (if I remove the fibreglas housing assembly) it seems I could surface mount the a/s light onto the argosy rear skin? thanks martin

Venders cannot post prices.

Please check your PM for them.

Yes, the tail light bezel from the 77 will fit the Argosy MH.

You can also update the lights to LED's.

Andy

Read my post a couple of times if the bumpers come without holes.
