Question I Polished It...Now What?

A few weeks ago I spend about 3 hours, a pint of acetone, 1/2 bottle of Turtle Wax chrome polish and about 10 pounds of elbow grease to shine up the rear bumper on our '06 Bambi. It was finished clear from the factory and sprayed with a clear coat, but it always was very dull. Too ugly for Bambi. Anyway, after I finished it was like a mirror. I was very proud of my work. Problem is that after a week or so I noticed that it was starting to tarnish some. I took out the polish and went over it again and made it shine again. I don't mind doing that every few months but every week is more than I have time for. Does anyone have any ideas on wax or something to prolong the shine. BTW after I re-polished it a lot of black came off on the polishing rag. (Reminded me of my wife's copper bottom pot and pans).

Randy

It will stay shiney longer if you finish it with an automotive paste wax as the final coat.
