Roll your own, banana wraps

I've been lucky rolling the edges of new bellypans around pvc pipe when I used .025 but .032 had me worried so I built a wrapper. I am very surprised how well it works. It makes a nice smooth roll that fits very well, no kinks!

Nice job, and thanks for the pictures. Next thing we'll hear that you bought an English Wheel and are producing end caps for those who have dents and creases in theirs. Let us know if you go into production

I must agree show the corner wraps because the ones on the caravel are in need of replacement (corrosion) plus some dings holes and just need to be replaced!

I can't find the installation process of the banana wrap after I cut the pattern from my old piece. I started at the bellypan/frame riveting, then riveted the stringers, then attempted to mold balance of aluminum to the seam which is covered by the rub strip (molding) and got numbers of crinkles. Spent $72 on the material and am very unhappy. There must be a better process than I am aware of. Can you help?

You can buy prefab plastic corner wraps that are used on newer trailers. I would think you would need to be really skilled at using and English wheel to make new aluminum corner wraps.

Okay now that I have replaced the belly pan on the caravel I have found that it is 1.easier to do if you flip the frame 2. Will never be perfect (to your taste) 3. Never never go as it should and last feel really good when you are done!

Yes I said that! Or did I?
