We have a 1998-19 foot Bambi. We use it about 10,000miles a year and are starting to get many rock dents on the lower panels on the left and right side front. Noticed that new Airstreams have stainless guards covering these panels. Just returned from visiting the factory and were told that they can be installed on older models. Anyone try this themselves?

I've re-installed a pair because they fell off. They just use sheet metal screws and pop rivets to hold them on. Of course, be careful to seal all the holes you drill.
However, you probably need a set of rock protectors, or mud flaps on you tow vehicle also. The SS segment protectors will dent also.
