Outrigger making dent in skin

I have my BP out and noticed where the wrap that is part of the side panel wraps up is too close to the outrigger edge when I bend it back up to attach to the BP.I am afraid it will eventually cut thru.Should I attempt to put some rubber material on the edge or do something else?
