Drill bit size for Belly Pan
Attempting to remove belly pan today.Rivets look larger than interior.
I am using a rivet removal tool with carbide bits.I have a 30 now,but it only makes a hole through top but does not pop rivet off.
When I use a putty knife to knock loose the rivet it elongates the hole.

Hi Steve, Since you are using the same hole to reattach the belly pan use the size drill bit for the large flange rivets. Here Large Flange Rivets
Looks like the "Ideal drill size is #11 bit" or 3/8 will do...

I second the 3/16", removed the rest my belly pan yesterday and 3/16" is what I used.

If the removal of the pan seems tedious, wait until you have to pop those wide flange rivets when you re-install it. My friend and I had to take turns with the rivet tool because our hands and wrists hurt so much from popping those big bad boys. We wore out a pop riveter on them.
This is a great place to use a pneumatic riveter.

Harbor Freight here I come! I figured out the 3/16 once I got to Fastenal.
This is soooo much better.
BTW the1/1/2 in hole saw is working well on the floor.
Twisting bolts off channel but having trouble with the screws and afraid to use sawsall so as not to go through skin.
