Bellypan..........

trying to remove the floor and decided there is no way around dropping the belly pan. Crawled under and noticed the stabilizers are welded to the frame. looks as though they could have been bolted on after the pan, but pan is cut to allow stabilizers to contact frame for welding. Is this typical? Either way I'm going to have to cut the stabilizers away. Also, there is a steel bar stretching from one stablizer to the other and welded. Are the gas lines supposed to run under the pan or can they be run inside? I'm thinking outside is best for safety and maintainance/repair.

What are clecos?

There is a crossmember most likely. My 81 had three bolts holding the jacks on and of course 2 of the three broke upon removal. I have never heard of them being welded but I bet that some PO tried to remove them and got frustrated and welded them back on.

Gas lines go outside so gas won't build up inside the trailer if there is a leak.

My stabilizers were bolted thru the pan to the frame (couple of j-bolts and large screws). Each stabilizer was bolted independently and not connected in any way to the stabilizer on the opposited side. The pan was continuous.

Clecos are used to hold pieces together prior to riveting.

Good luck!

Being as tall as you are, you'd need to do a shell off anyway and increase the height at least 2 feet! *joking*
