banana wrap color?

I have a '76 Sovereign originally with a grey banana wrap. I am debating on painting it black to match the newer models. Is there a certain type of paint or color to use? Is this difficult?

I noticed someone else posted this earlier today - sorry I don't recall who.

No idea how difficult it would be - mine is still the plain aluminum. I'm sure someone will be along that's done it and can give you some advise.

Well, I went ahead and painted it a dark charcoal grey - almost black. Not original, but I really like it.

Found this to be interesting being a new owner of a 1975 31" soverign ourselves. What is a banana skin? What is the belly pan? Thanks Mark

Banana skin is the curved aluminum that curves under the coach from the lower trim molding. Belly pan is the flat aluminum panels that covers the underside (belly) of the coach.

ryan3326 - The painted lower wrap looks really good with the blue trim & the tinted windows. Well done!

Here's a tip: Spray flat black on it first then spray over it with the Airstream Gray Metallic.
