Help! Need a measurement

Hi folks, not sure this is where this question belongs, but here goes.

We are about to move our Silver Condo to a seasonal site and I would like to build a deck beside the trailer. Ideally I would like to have the deck about 7-8" below the door to form a "step". My question is how far off the ground is the bottom of the door? I would measure my own, but the ground isn't level where we have the trailer now. By the way it is a 2003 Safari 25 SS.

Thanks in advance for your help as always.

Regards,

Regards,
Best you measure your trailer.

Your trailer is equipped with torsion axles. Depending on how much the trailer was/was not used, the dimension your seeking can vary by 2 to 3 inches.

Once you have the trailer into it's new home, you must , in order to protect the axles, place the trailer on some jack stands so that you remove most of the weight off the tires.

The jack stands are not intended for that purpose. They will break if you try to lift the trailer.

Keeping most of the weight off of torsion axles, when not in use for an extended period of time, will appreciably extend their life.

The reverse is true, if you do not remove most of the weight.

Using the jack stands, will further alter the dimension that you seek.

Seems like it would be a lot easier to level & block trailer, then proceed to build deck, that way you`re now belly crawling to get to blocks and stabalizers. Just my opinion. Dave
