i had to return the above unit. the description on the site is poor and doesn't give detailed measurement
all folded the unit is 16.5 high. i have 20" clear to the ground, that only gives me 4" clearance. every thing else under the AS has at least 9"
i am now replacing it with the Stromberg carlson SMEC-24-29
folded its only 11.5" . the one step on the As now is 7 " folded.
this is also alum and looks better that the black step
I've swapped the single steel step for a double steel step on the 22 Sport, and it was neither expensive nor difficult.
If you think there's a snowball's chance in Havana you might not be happy with the double step, it would be a significantly smaller loss to get the steel step set and try it first.

the replacement steps, like the original AS step are held on with 4 bolts from the top two rails under the door in the step well.
My wife always found them a bit wiggly
today i drilled two larger holes in the side of the step frame. the holes were already there and match up with the side metal pieces that form the step well under the door
i drilled them to accept two 1/2 x 13 tps bolts with washer on both ends and a nylon nut
after it was all snugged up, the step felt even easier to open.
the wife tested the new install and she thinks its much more stable. recall , happy wife, happy life
no pictures to show.
also, you may need to pull back some plastic trim to get access to the back side
