You can get the clear coat that Airstream uses in spray cans from Outdoors Mart. You can also get a aluminum polish that takes off oxidation from Outdoors mart. The polish is a chemical action with no grit. If you need to strip a small area you can use Citri strip but be sure to mask the area off carefully. Citri strip only works when it is fairly cool and damp and it does not dry out before it cuts the finish. You can scrape with a plastic scraper and wash it off with a hose.
Some woodworking stores still sell clear lacquer. But I think it has no UV resistance all and would not last long on a trailer.

Does anyone know the paint code for the black/gray area around the side windows on a 1993 350LE motor home?
Or should I just use a flat black?Click image for larger version

You can put enamel over lacquer but you can't put lacquer over enamel.

I have Duplicolor T-183 on my list of things to get to match the paint around the bottom of our '84. Might be the same....

You can paint enamel over lacquer but not lacquer over enamel. Enamel also takes longer to dry so you would want to spray in a cleaner environment.
