What about the Trim?

I have a '69 Overlander the exterior has trim pieces and raised Airstream letters.

See Photos:

I have read about polishing... but what about these pieces? How I do to shine them up? Do I have to take them off? Also notice in photo 1257 some of the trim looks rusted.

Thanks in Advance!
