In such circumstances you can get a can of the Airstream clear spray, and spray into the cap of the spray can to collect a teaspoonfull of the liquid, and quickly paint it on the marks with an artist's small brush. (As distinct from a small artist's brush....
)
You need to be quick, and apply the laquer with just one brush stroke, not too full, or you will get runs, not too little on the brush, or you will show brush marks. I'ts worth practicing on a spare piece of aluminum, held vertically.
