Restoring Blue Letters

The blue front "airstream" and rear belt "safari" lettering on Our 2001 70th Anniversary Edition looked like the blue paint was peeling. On closer examination it appears that a clearcoat covering the blue paint has darkened and is flaking off. Does anyone have a process for restoring these letters?

Thanks!

We have a similar problem on our '95 Excella 1000 34 ft. trailer. The blue AIRSTREAM lettering above the front and back windows (2" high individual letters) got dirt and algae between the layers of decal and thick plastic. Can we just replace them? How do we find more blue letters?

Roadapple......I polished the top half of our 98 Excella. I got replacement decals from Out of Doors Mart for $14.95 each.

I got a similar decal from Sanders RV. Only problem is my letters are 3-dimensional and individual stick-on. We cleaned the similar Safari blue letters on the side and they look great. Going to mask and spray them with clearcoat. Working on cleaning the front and rear Airstream letters but they appear to be a metallic finish and are not coming out as nice as the Safari letters.

I've seen them in the Store at the Factory, so I'm sure they're available at any Airstream Dealer.

Replacement lettering is usually available from parts stocking dealers.
