replacement available?
Does anyone know if new or reproduction International emblems are available for a 1972 Ambassador?
Mine are a tad pitted and would like some beautiful new ones. If not I'll have to have these really plated and repaint the red white and blue areas. Thanks!

They look pretty good. There are a few places on one that the chrome is peeling. I can make them work but I'd like perfection!

I did the refurb
Well, since there are no replacements available, I decided to re finish my old International emblems. Here's what it looked like behind the emblems when I took them off.
I cleaned up the corrosion and did a little polishing around the area where they mount.
I used some butl putty tape and a little Tempro 626.
And here are the refinished emblems. I think they turned out pretty well.

They have studs on the back of them. They are fastened to the shin with self threading screws.

Lance it must make it hard to get boots to fit if they are fastened to your shins.
Seriously though did you cut off your studs or do you have access to inside with the interior panels off?
They look fantastic. It really must go a long way towards making the shell look like new.

Ha ha you funny guy. I had access to the self threading nuts. I figured now was the time to get that all done.
