Removall 220 gone? or temporary?
Hello,
We are working on our 1965 Overlander and I was going to strip off the last remnants of clear coat. Problem is, I can't seem to get any! Out of stock everywhere. I just sent an email to Napier to see what is up. Anyone know? Anyone have a suggestion for what I should use instead?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Removal 220 supply
Go to eBay and search for Removal 220. There is a guy selling it by the five gallon size for $75.00 plus $46 for shipping. I just bought five gallons for $50 plus the shipping. He has five units left. That was Saturday 12/11 at 8:00 p.m. Good luck. I couldn't find it either for my '76 Overlander.

I am not sure but I read somewhere that it was being discontinued. I don't remember why but I think it was about a month ago that I read it. I sure hope some company will come up with something just as good or better!

I suggest Aircraft Stripper available at Auto Zone.
Put on and let it set 10/15 min and washes off just be careful around plastic.
I used an old 6" wide paint brush to paint it on.
Do a search on Aircraft Stripper for more information.

I was able to get the Removal 220 from that ebay post. He only has 3 left as of 5 am Sunday 12/12. I paid 50 plus 32 S/H for a 5 gallon. Thank you again for letting me know!

Bob,
Thank you for the words of caution. The beauty of paypal is that they reimburse you if the "fishy" goes awry! Only had to be reimbursed once but they did it within the month. At that bargain price, I'll risk it.

I ordered a couple 1-gallon buckets from Super F Paint a couple months ago. At that time, they only had a couple 10-gallon buckets left. I don't recall their inventory for the 5-gallon buckets. They said the company (mfg of Removal) was bought by a South African company and that they haven't defined any distribution points yet. Unknown if it will be available in the US in the future at this point.

I got my "Removal" from ICI paints... it was the same, just labeled as "Hydrostrip"... I think the model number was 505...
Good luck!

I got my removal 220!
Thank you Marc, Shari, Laura, and all,
I just received my 5 gallon of Removal220 from ebay. Paid $82!!! A total bargain. Arrived in sealed, original condition! Phew. Had to agree with Bob that it looked too good to be true but I am all about a bargain.
Will hopefully strip the clear coat off this weekend. Will post pics and update.
Thanks everyone for the feedback and info.

Jennifer,
It has been a couple years since I stripped my clear coat, however, if my memory is correct it needs to be reasonably warm out for the removal to work before it dries out. I recommend starting on a small patch to figure out how it is working before getting to carried away coating half the camper.

My 5 gallons of eBay Removall 220 just arrived!
It worked. The UPS guy just handed me my new and factory sealed 5-gallon pail of the Removall 220 I bought on eBay. I was holding my breath, but I do love a deal!

DoradoStrip 3031 worked great for me. Just put it on thick and wait. I waited overnight. Hose or pressure wash it off. I had a couple of spots that required a second application. I only left that application on a couple of hours. Get it at www.dtep.com
