If it were me, I would use lettering enamel made by One Shot. Same stuff sign painters use when they hand letter, which is not done much today thanks to computers and high speed cutters and printers. Lettering enamel paint flows well enough to hide the brush strokes, and covers in one pass. As far as a brush, I use natural camel hair brushes, can be had at most any art/hobby store. This type of paint should last 4-5 years, take about an hour or more to finish. Red Hi-Performance vinyl should last 4-5 years and take 2 minutes to apply, once you get home from the sign shop.
