Hi Jack
That sure is a nice looking trailer you have there!
I'm a little currious.....with all the talk about filiform here on the forums can a company like P&S strip "clean up the corrosion (filiform)" and then re-coat a trailer?
I bet it costs a bit of $$$ to get a trailer looking like your's but it's an option.

Ismith, They are in Helena, Ohio.
Millvalley, I believe that this the only way to go if you have filiform corrosion, unless you want to chase it around your rig with a Q-tip and someodd chemicals. The clearcoating they are doing has gotten only rave reviews as far as I can tell. Too bad They are so far from us...

Does anyone have a phone number or address for P&S in Helena, Ohio. I've been checking out some of the pics and would like to get my Air Stream 345 motor home done. How does the price compare to the Air Stream factory and quality? I've looked at some pics of the mirror finished one and thought that was to shiny. Also heard that some of them have been asked to leave a campground cause of the sun reflecting off it.

Jim,
Look them up on the web... P & S Travel Trailer Service. They have been in business since 1968 and know what they are doing. You can read all about how they got started in the Airstream polishing business on their "About Us" page. They are not just a polishing shop either. They can do a top to bottom, front to back off restoration, refurbish, or whatever you want them to do. Steve and Kevin are extremely nice and easy to work with.

P and S, is one of the few, "top notch" Airstream related companies to deal with.
They have been for decades.
Sad, that we don't have more like them.

Thanks for the quick response Carl,
I just checked out their site and I'll give them a call soon. I'd like to get mine done this summer.

Dennis just to clarify, this isn't my trailer. The fellow who owns this lives down in South East Missouri. I know P&S also replaced at least one panel that was damaged so there is a brand new panel on that unit that was also polished. You can't tell which was the replacement.
The graphics made quite a difference and has the biggest impact on giving the trailer a new model look.

The PO had our 25ft 1988 done by P&S in 2002. As others have said this is some very expensive work.He paid $2000 to have the top 1/2 of it (center stripe up and over to the other side) and paid an additional $180 ea. for polishing on both front and rear caps to remove the discoloration caused by removal of the WBCCI numbers. He also paid $160 for additional polishing above the awning area. The total bill came to $2671 including tax.
This past October I had to have the front cap area redone locally as the plasticoat was pealing off. The portion that wasn't done below the center stripe is still holding up very well. My suggestion is to not do any refinishing that doesn't really nead it as the improvements may not last that long. My trailer sits out in the hot sun in Florida and that may be part of my longevity issue.
Hope this helps, Pat

Before and after pictures of Kevin and Steve's work.
Like a previous poster, I wanted an original shine, and the clearcoat knocked down the shine to a near original sheen.
In additional to the polishing and clearcoat, P&S installed a new AC unit, and furnace. Kevin Zolatoned the interior and it looks great. They did everything they promised and at the quoted price. They also did dozens of little improvements at little or no additional cost.
I can't say enought about the quality of the people and their work at P&S.
I'm taking the Tradewind back to them in a couple of weeks to have them install a new ZipDee awning in an unusual vintage fabric.

Dropped off Airstream in Helena!
Some before pics of our Airstream. You can see clearcoat peeling on top front and rear. Also, how bad the entire front of the Airstream looks. There is a lot of work to be done there! We heard the Airstream went travelled to Alaska once, and that is where most of that damage is from?! There is also peeling on both sides of trailer that started this winter. We will post after pics once we pick it up. We are anxiously waiting

Had a complete clear coat and some major collision damage repaired by P&S in March 2003. Sold the trailer in 2007. At that time the clear coat still looked pristine. Great people to work with!!!
BTW, the collision damage was extensive. Curbside was a mes!

After pictures of "AIRHEAD" !!!!!
P & S did a wonderful job! Looks like a new trailer! I would highly recommend them to anyone. They also have a mechanic, we will be using their services in the future. We are fortunate we are so close to them.

Dropped off our '90 Excella two weeks ago at P&S. Will go back to pick it up this coming spring. New Clearcoat and awnings all the way around. I cannot wait to see her when she is done!

I had heard the many favorable comments on P and S. I took my 2000 34 up to just have the front center cap done. I have taken back once to have it redone and I'm very disappointed. I will not use them again.
