Not sure what stage it's in

The exterior of our 70 overlander is confusing me
Basically it looks like little worms some parts are shiny some are frosted looking... mostly frosted looking
Any thoughts what state this is? and how best to deal with it?

Thanks SO Much

I presume when you say "looks like little worms" you aren't referring to actual holes in the aluminum skin, but rather the frosty looking appearance of clearcoat degradation, or oxidation of the skin.

It sounds like the clearcoat is all but gone.....Ours is that way...balding on top, and thin around the edges. Crap!!! Sounds like my hairline.

You can live with, call the hairclub for Airstreams, or remove it. A 1970 27' Overlander would look mighty fine all polished up and shining.

If you can post some photos it would help.

Best of luck and welcime to the group.

Welcome to the forum!
You have filiform corrosion. Do a search for filiform, and read til you can't take anymore.

You can remove it by polishing, but please read up on it first, so you don't do anything that might be detrimental to the aluminum surface.
Carson City huh? Are you going to Burningman with the progressive airstream crowd?
Good luck to you
