new paint - new color?

We will need to repaint our new project and so it has occurred to us that maybe a different color scheme might be in order.

Gold, copper.... merco?. Of course we could just redo the original but the possibilities are intriguing... Has anyone seen any great paint jobs? Got any Fab ideas?

Here is the project in question - the before shot:

There was an Argosy at the Silver Falls Rally that had been repainted gloss white to match his TV. It looked pretty good. Might consider matching your TV - unless of course it's Pumpkin Orange like mine

I like white. It is a cool color, looks clean, and is easy to keep clean. You can get Cadillac Pearl White, I have seen it on Escalades, and it looks great, especially when moving around it, the color seems to change slightly.
Stay away from dark colors, Rich Luhr painted his Argosy blue-green, and it turned into a sweat box.

Janet.

How about using Dupont's ChromaLusion.

Changes colors as you walk by it, even cold sober.

We almost bought a white Argosy a few years ago. Looked real good. How about colour coordinating with your tow vehicle.

Janet:

Your’s may well be painted before mine at the speed I’m moving.

When it’s done, when ever that is, it will be Mini Black below the belt line and Pepper White above; two tone.

Retro look???

Janet,

Well, how about the retro hippie look? Peace signs, flowers, tie-die affect?

We could all hang out by your trailer and feel young again! Sorry... I couldn't resist. I had a VW Bus.... when I was in college...

If I had an argosy I would want to paint it a pearl tangerine/light orange sort of color. I was looking for a picture of what I'm thinking of but couldn't find one. Seems like every year at the custom car shows I see a color like that and think it would make a happy-sunny color to paint a trailer.

There you go! Creamsicle describes it perfectly, but with a little depth added in from the pearl, probably a candy/pearl. Of course, that wouldn't be a cheap paintjob, but I figure if you're going to do paint, it's expensive anyway, so you might as well go nuts and get just what you want. It's a tough decision. I've never had a car done yet because I can never settle on a color before I end up selling them and let the next owner worry about it!

janet,

how about a harley color for one half of your paint scheme? my suggestion would be pepper red. it is a stock color for 1955 harleys. it would work well with the pearlesant white.

think chevy engine orange when you run it by gary!
