Janet,
Wally might have painted it white, but after a year or so been tired of the black streak disease. Any medium color should disguise dirt better then white or dark. Something to consider.
The photo doesn't really do the trailer justice, but this is one of the most memorable Argosy (non-standard) paint schemes that I have seen. The color was said to be from mid/late 1960s Cadillac line -- I believe hazy lavendar.
The trim was painted a lighter silver providing a very elegant contrast.
The photo was taken at the WBCCI International Rally in Dayton, Ohio -- 1999.
Good luck with your decision!
Kevin

We will need to repaint our new project and so it has occurred to us that maybe a different color scheme might be in order.
Gold, copper.... merco?. Of course we could just redo the original but the possibilities are intriguing... Has anyone seen any great paint jobs? Got any Fab ideas?
Here is the project in question - the before shot:
We're still obsessing about the color..... it has to be light - we live in a sunny place. we like both the idea of the Cadillac Pearl white and the light "ode to creamsicle" w/ clear coat...

Do you remember the Black Bart photos of his Argosy after repainting? Even though just "cream," it was so classy I've never forgotten it. If we ever find the little Argosy I'd like, I'm doing that one. Do a search-bet you can find it again. ~G

I don't know why this looks so pretty to me, maybe because it had just been redone. A perfect little oval egg Janet, it's not very original, but me thinks you could just go with this creme. Maybe add a little pearl for "fancy." Thanks, Terry, for the photo find. ~G

Talking of coloring A/S. I found a source (forgot who!) that sells a paint that comes out identical to high gloss shiny chrome. Can one use this kind of paint instead of mirror shine? Which one would last longer as far as the shine goes.. chrome paint job or aluminum mirror finish polish? I know after mirror polish a clear coat or two would prolong the shine but would it outlast an automotive metalic (chrome) paint that looks far shinier than mirro polish? Any thoughts? Thanks
