New Numbers

We need to replace our WBCCI numbers. Any advice before I start peeling and scraping? Don't know how long the old #s have been on, but I'm sure once I get them off there ghosts will remain!.

Don't use Goo Gone! It strips the clear coat.

I used a damp cloth and a steam iron to soften mine, they rolled right off. You will still have the ghost numbers, unless you get into some heavy abrasives and polishing.

I had 3836 on my Airstream when I got it , and when I joined WBCCI I asked for # 13836 . it was not being used so I am # 13836 ,

I have at least 3 sets of ghost numbers on mine...I asked for 88888...but they wouldn't let me have it so I settled for what they sent me, which turned out to be a nice low 2449 Makes it look like I have been around forever

Got one number off fairly easy, sure can see the outline. Think I'll stay away from razor blades or chem's unless the rest prove more diff. if so then a hair drier and hot water sounds good. Thanks for the imput guys....

I do not understand what your are asking for. If there are WBCCI numbers on the unit and you want to join the club, call Jackson Center and see if they can reassign the number to you. It is easier than taking them off. Phone number available at wbcci.org.

You will usually have ghost number when you remove the old ones. If you are going to replace and use the SAME number, you can take an imprint/rubbing of the old ones, with paper and a pencil, BEFORE removal. You can then have new numbers made the EXACT same shape and size. If careful, you can re-install the new numbers over the ghost numbers.

The new numbers come from WBCCI in Jackson Center. They only come I believe in one size and only if they are issued to you upon membership and request for those numbers if available. Someone else may have them. It's worth a try if you are interested. jim
