Metallic Gray Paint Code?

Does anyone have a paint code for the metallic gray paint used on the lower panels of the 80s (86 in particular) classic motorhomes.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Metallic Gray Paint Code!

I got the answer from Rod at Airstream Customer Service (937-596-6111) within 1 hour of calling and leaving a message (at 3PM on a Friday afternoon) - these people are great!

The answer is:

1980 to 1987 Airstream motorhomes and trailers
Metallic Gray
DuPont Centari 44146-A

But, if you only need a touch up, a 12 oz spray can is available from Airstream for $15.53 (part # 360151).

Hope this is of help to someone else out there.

Regards,
Jeff

You can also take that paint code to most any body shop that uses Dupont paints to mix up a 6 oz bottle of it - usually runs around $5 unless of course you have been a frequent customer - then usually they will do it complimentary.

Thanks for finding this out. All of the grey paint on my 345 is shot and needs a strip and re-spray. Its way down on my list of things to fix, repair and improve but I'm glad to know what the exact color should be.

This may be a rumor, but I have also heard that the toolbox gray that Sears sells to repaint their OEM toolboxes is close if not the same color. I think it runs 5-7 bucks a can.

Remember you didn't hear this from me

Try Walmart for Duplicolor code T183W about $2.50 for rattle can. Match for 1988 Excella frame and bottom panel

Good Luck
