Question Lower banding

Is there suppose to be an insert where it is blue in the photo?

My warm weather endeavor is to remove and seal this trim to stop the leaks I have found. It appears that there may have at one time been an insert in the trim, but I am not certain?

balrgn.

Moldings using insert were first used by Airstream with the 1974 models and up.

Times have changed. Back then you could buy how many feet you needed. Not any more. The insert materials come in 50 foot rools, only.

It is available in blue and black.

Thanks, I'll put it on my list. Looks OK with paint but, not quite right...

My Argosy used to have the orange insert. This is not available any longer and I am not going to put blue or black in there.

I have been experimenting with my airbrush and I have found a good lacquer paint that covers the ridges of the aluminum nicely. I am going to mask it, lacquer it with the airbrush and then clear coat it.

My tests have performed very well and it is a close match to the orange that was in the rub rail before.

Argosy orange inserts

We now have the Argosy belt line and rub rail inserts available in the original orange.
