Fabulous exterior rehab by Dick McIntyre

I just got my '95 30' Classic Limited back from Dick McIntyre of Monroe, Oregon and I can't say enough good about him and the job he did. It looks fabulous - like a new trailer.
Dick charges $110 per foot to renovate Airstreams. My trailer had a horrible, crackly, chipping clearcoat/finish on the lower half that I thought would make Dick throw up his hands in exasperation. But no, he calmly said he could deal with it and that he hoped he could save all of the decals and striping (he did). I expected him to charge me extra because my trailer was in such bad shape but he didn't. He also replaced a perimeter mid-height molding and painted everything on the exterior of the trailer (hitch, bumper, etc.) that was originally painted.

I can't tell you what a beautiful job he did! Highly recommended. Here's the thing though - Dick is not a young man. I don't know how much longer he'll be doing this kind of work. If you need your exterior clearcoat removed and replaced he's your man.

Contact me and I can give you Dick's phone number.

Dick doesn't know anything about clearcoating an Airstream.

But, in fact, he knows "EVERYTHING" about the clearcoating.

He should have a star in the Hollywood walk of fame.

And, to top it all off, he is one heck of a nice guy too.

And his work and ethics, is impossible to beat, maybe tie, but not beat.

Andy

Exterior rehab

Unfortunately I didn't take pictures before Dick went to work on my trailer. Right now it's stored in my barn and won't photograph well. We'll be getting it out in a month or so to prep for winter in AZ so I'll take some pictures at that time.

Our new trailer could use some Dick McIntye magic.

Can anyone tell me what the trailer looks like with the clear coat off? Can you remove clear coat and just give it a hand polish or then do you have to go the expensive mirror shine thing?

Kmaggard, we stripped our clear coat off with Citristrip (dont let it get on rubber or decals or lens covers) and cleaned and sealed with white diamond. Beautiful soft shine. No clear coat required. Water beads up like magic! Reapply once or twice a year. Wash the excess off with dawn.

Jim, I was wondering if you have Dicks address and phone number. Sure would appreciate it. I have a 98 Safari that needs some help!
Thanks
James
