Exterior Stripes

Newbie here.... we just bought our 1967 28 ft Int'l Ambassador. It has a red, white and blue stripe at the bottom on the sides and a blue stripe wrapped around the front. Is this normal and would it be considered a bicentennial model?

Well I have a 1966 Ambassador (International) and this picture was taken the day I went to purchase it. Are your stripes like these? I am also very new at this, but I was told in a prior thread that originally my stripes were not painted at all... Hope this helps you and Happy Streaming....

Mine are similar! I wish I could figure out how to post these pictures. They are always too big and I have to ask our Graphics Guru to help me LOL. On the tail mine are red, white and blue. Somebody decided to add extra red, white and blue down the side which I am taking off. So, you read where there was no coloring at all. I guess we would just have color on the flag and blue on the actual Airstream logos?

That's what I got out of it.... and actually somewhere saved on this computer I have the brand and color spray paint that is the closest match to Airstream Blue. I'll post it when I find it.

The belt line and rub rail moldings in 66 had blue electrical tape in them.

Obviously, it didn't last very long.

Then Airstream painted them blue.

Red was never used, except in the flag.

On my 88 Limited it has the brown striping on the midline on all sides of the trailer. Mine is in bad shape and has faded quite a lot, and I want to replace it, however I can't find where to buy it. I would appreciate any help I steering me to the right source.

Regards,

Reganzo

I have an 86 Classic Limited. My beltline stripes are shot also. I am currently in the process of removing them. I plan on replacing the vinyl with a gloss black. I have not found a source for the wood grain vinyl. I am not planning on adding that. I think just the black, maybe with the silver pin stripes will look nice.

This outfit has been very helpful to me. Search for RV Stripes and Graphics. They have a good website, and they will respond to e-mail questions.
