End Caps v. Side Panels

The aluminum material used on my 2001 Safari end caps looks different from the side panels. The side panels look more like a bright finish while the end caps have more grain, kinda like a brushed or satin look. Is this a result of the process used to form the complex curves of the end caps?

The flat panels are a rolled sheet. The end segments take a sheet and stretch it across a form to make the compound curve. I've heard that the material in the sheets and ends is the same, but I have a hard time believing it. Probably depends on the year.

The material on the side, window, and roof sheets is the same as the material in the end segments. Stretching the aluminum stretches the coating, which creates the different looking texture.

Our 2006 23' Safari is like that, where the "grain" is more noticeable on the end caps.
