Clearcoat to Maintain Appearance?? Help!
So after camping the daylights out of our "new to us" 86 SOV over the past two years, I'm starting to become a bit more concerned about her appearance.
The entire TT is clearcoated with the factory clearcoat from 1986. It seems that there is quite a bit of it left.
The PO of the TT removed the curbside and I have since given it a cursory polish (last year - very messy) and have left it unprotected. Further, it seems that I am getting that corrosion between the clearcoat and the skin on the parts that are still coated.
So this is what I am thinking:
1. I'd like to clearcoat the piece of skin I polished. Recommendations? I don't mind waxing every six months. Might be easier. Recommendations? Walbanize?
2. I am going to REMOVALL the coating on my front "fenders" and polish. they look horrible - particularly on long trips when I can plainly view them in my rearview mirror!! Ugh!
3. I'd like to "revitalize" some of the areas where I have clearcoat intact - again, Walbanize??
Thanks for any help.
Oh - and I have the metal raised cursive letters on the front that are painted BLUE. I'd love to repaint those - if anyone has a suggestion on the paint brand.
Thanks for the help!!
