Strip it "carefully" with lacquer thinner.
Purchase a can of "plasticote" spray paint from a parts stocking dealer.
Carefully spray the panel, after you have properly masked it off, so that any overspray will not get on the other panels.

We have a 1974 31' International
Front and rear endcaps have clearcoat coming off.
How many "plasticote" spray paint cans would these two panels require?
Also - is this clearcoat something our local autobody shop might have or could order.
Thanks

For the love of Velveeta don't do it!
Nothing from a rattle can will last long, and I suspect you'll have a bigger mess on your hands! Spray can stuff would certainly not stand a chance cooking in the sun.
I would certainly head to an autobody shop for their services. Modern clearcoats have built in UV inhibitors which will last a lot longer!
Just my .02 cents!

Andy, How long will the Plasticoat last ? Do you put 1 or 2 coats on it? Is that something you sell there at Inland RV?
Thanks Jim

I've always used one complete aerosol of plasticote for each small panel, such as you have shown on the photo. I use multiple thin coats until the can is empty, allowing a few minutes between coats. Too thick a single coat will run.
Nick.

Yes, we stock the spray cans of clear coat.
It lasts 4 to 6 years, depending on the exposure to the sun, ie, more sun, less life.

Auto clear coats are designed to adhere to paint, not aluminum.

One can per small panel or segment.
Auto parts stores don't sell Airstream clear coat (plasticoat).
Some Airstream dealers stock it.

Auto Clearcoat
Not true,
Sikkens and Glasserit both make clearcoat products specifically designed for bare metal (non ferrous) applications.
They are not polyurathane! and have a much longer life than Plasticote, since it was never designed for exposure to UV environments.

New products come on the market, everyday.
But, when it comes to working with Airstream owners, they also want to know the products history.
How long will it last, how long will it stay clear, how do you remove it, etc?
Then where do you get it, and how is it packaged?
I certainly don't have those answers.
Andy
