Clearcoat Recall

Heard thru the grapevine that there was a recall in 1999 on the clearcoat.
Anyone out there confirm? and if so what VIN numbers are included?

I'm not sure about the recall issue but I think that '99 may have been the final year that Airstream clear coated their trailers at the factory. According to our tour guide at JC, EPA regulations required changes in the clear coat formulation which led to problems which occured on the 96-99 models. All panels are now prefinished by Alcoa.

I know that some trailers were clearcoated again at no charge
at JC. Supposedly that clearcoat also failed on many units.
