I need to replace my air conditioning cover , it's degrading. The air still works fine is the problem , I figure it will go out soon. Aren't the covers about $110 and a new unit is $1000 installed ?

It's the original unit.

You can see the condition of my aluminum in the pictures I have posted , mostly like new except at the top. If I use Nuvite what grade should I start with ? I have a Porter Cable 7336 Random Orbital polisher , is it ok to compound polish with or do I need a non-orbital ?

Yes, fiberglass one piece AC covers are available for your Airstream.

But that price is many years old.

I would use a rotory buffer ... Variable speed . I started mine with because I didn't think it was that bad until I started . I switched to f9 . Then used the g6 after that . I'm still in the process of it . I've read a lot of articles on it and there are a lot of options . I like the fact that nuvite doesn't remove any aluminum it just smoothes it out . Only real advise is wear nitrile gloves , a hat, and glasses , you will wear it all over and doesn't wash out very easy. Oh and lots of rags and a spray bottle with mineral spirits to clean of residue. Hope that helps

I would think the pad would clog up too quick. The benefit of the cyclo is that you can wrap a shirt over the pads as they don't spin . You may still have swirl marks with the orbital, but it would be worth a shot before you drop the$$$ on a cyclo .
