My '92 Limited has been failing for several years. Some time ago on the Turbo Diesel Register I ran across some chat about a couple of tough clearcoat materials that I am considering in lieu of the traditional. So far no one in my area offers the products. Here are the websites for the product; http://www.vivilon.com/ and http://www.nyalic.com/. An RV dealer in Texas who regularly contributes to the TDR forums has many of his used units refinished with the product.

Incidentally, I live in Idaho, not Illinois. I'll try to edit my personal info.

Gene

Good old APB....some trailers get it, some don't ....just like men. Oh yeah, APB - Airstream Patterned Baldness. My old 85 TT has it.gives it character. Until I can justify to the wide have the 34' polished $$$$$.

Holy cow! I was wondering where you were going that's my initials! (APB)
I have a brother in auto body, he keeps warning me of the cost, then the next day he wants to know when we are getting started. Once stripped I don't think re-applying is the route I'm taking. It will only be maintenance then to buff every so often ()

What do you use to strip the clearcoat off?

So far the best test has been from Por Products
http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=188
POR-STRIP® - Remover / Stripper. Remove any coating from any surface without damaging window glass, chrome, or weatherstrip. POR-STRIP ® is non acidic and will not harm aluminum or factory fiberglass.
We will most likely start with the roof.

I have a white roof, so I'd probably have to mask it to do the aluminum.
