Chrome Beltline

I recently replaced my chrome beltline and rubline. I found that Colonial RV in New Jersey had the best prices. Brian in the parts department was very helpful. The shipping price was fair.

What's a chrome beltline?

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Hi, the belt line moulding is the moulding covering the upper and lower body seams. In this picture you can see it above my blue stripes.

For a minute there I thought you were going to say -it's what Mr. Clean uses to hold his pants up.

Some models have a beltline, some do not. The official name is "insert" which is inserted into the "extrusion". The insert has tape on the back and some chrome colored facing which will deteriorate with age, sometimes very little age. Sometimes the tape doesn't hold and needs to be re-glued.

Split', you can have one too. All it takes is money.

At least there'd be something shiny on my trailer.

The chrome on our beltline insert is gone, worn. I've thought about paint for this. Has anyone done this? I'm wondering what kind of primer would have to be used to mate the shiny paint to the plastic insert. Thanks for any ideas that might also help others missing the "chrome." ~G

max,

You could buy the insert, pull the old out, put the new one in. I believe it comes in rolls.

If you remove the insert and plan to leave it out then make sure to seal up all of the rivets. I found several holes with no rivets and of course the rivets that are there are hollow. Rain water will build up inside the rail and seep into the rivets and holes and end up rotting your floor.
