Blue Belly stripe removal

Hi Folks,

I am trying to remove the blue striping on the belly of my 1996 30 Ft AS. It is the wide light blue stripe. A good portion has fallen off over the winter and it looks terrible. I have been using a heat gun to remove most of the remaining portions. The problem I have is removing the glue backing that remains in some areas, the stripe comes of and this backing remains. It reminds of when I have removed wall paper and the backing remains. Is there some solution I can buy to remove these last bits? I am afraid of using too much heat from the heat gun.

As always much appreciated.
Easy

You might try Bestine or GooGone

They shouldn't damage your clearcoat, but check in a inconspicuous place first.

Okay many thanks for the information. I used Varsol on it today and it worked but is a slow tedious job.
