Question Beltline orange insert replacement tips?

Wahooo! I feel like I won the lottery. I found some orange vinyl beltine insert for our minuet. The old stuff is held in with end clips that are riveted on and it looks like no adhesive was used behind the vinyl.

Should there be adhesive behind the vinyl?
Can the clips be reused?

No

Yes

You will need to make some orange rivets though. If you can insert the rub rail and leave it in, with excess hanging off, un-fastened for a few days then cut it off and put the ends on. When you install it you WILL stretch it some. This will allow it to shrink and then when you fasten it down it will not want to pull out so much.

Janet,
I would assume the installation is similar to my AS. The clips can be reused and there is no sealant or adhesive behind the strip. It is strictly a slip and slide deal. BTW while you have it out you can check for loose rivets in the aluminum channel., BTW where did you find the orange insert, last I heard it was NLA?

I have a roll of it in my garage to do my MH. I got it from camper repair in Al. He gets all kinds of NLA parts. I am still waiting on some window parts for my MH. You just have to keep looking. The Airsteam store at International had a couple of big rolls of it too.

It isn't - but I've been asking every RV dealer I've run across - persistance paid off. Sutton RV www.gmsrv.com in Eugene OR had a little in stock - I think I got the last of it. They apparenttly bought out the inventory of another A/S dealer that went toes up. They were hugely helpful and really prompt. Their website has some nifty old A/S photos on it.
