"Airstream" logo plaque

I've ordered one of the authentic looking plaques for my 56 Bubble - from Airstream Dreams - and now I'm wondering how to install it. I have a regular rivet gun but those are BIG rivets holding on the old plaque. Super Glue??

No glue. Use Olympic rivets. You can get them from the same place you bought the plaques. You did get the ones with the art deco style lettering, right? I just put mine on last weekend. Remove the old one by drilling out the rivets with a 5/32" bit and use it as a template over the other one and drill out the new holes. It'll fit like a champ. I should know, I made the artwork for the plaques for Steve at AirstreamDreams. They sure look great on the front and rear of my rig. I'll post some pic's tomorrow.

My tie down is there. It's actually a cross bar that fits inside the hand hold areas on the 'C' wrap of the tanks. If you know what to look for, you'll see it. My threaded rod wasn't long enough to go to the top. It also holds the regulator.

Thumbs up I couldn't help

flyfshr,
Maybe I've got a slightly different one..The piece on mine that looks like yours is not a threaded tye down piece but, rather the one on top of it that is..It was that "piece" that, I thought you were missing..
Kewl..

Actually 53FC, I did have the threaded nut with wings but opted for not using it for two reasons. One - not enough room for the wings to make a complete revolution in the tight quarters and second - with only a nut, it would be more difficult for someone to steal my tanks.

Fly Fisher:
How do Olypia rivets go on? ie., special tools needed? Ha Ha 4 propane tanks. Some people are just blessed I guess. I only have one - but 2 batteries so go figure.

Olympic Rivets

Olympic rivets go on pretty much like pop rivets. Same principle, back part gets fatter once in the hole. The difference is the center post breaks off above the head of the rivet. This gets "shaved" down with a rivet shaver. Its a costly item that shaves the rivet post and head to look like the original buck rivets on your trailer.

Yes I've fished the Killer Bug, have even tied a few of my own.
