2005 International CCD Weather strip trim; reglue or replace

I have a 2005 International CCD. The silver rubber? weather strip trim around the bottom front and the back [ hides the screws] is falling off. Is this trim available to buy?

Should I attempt ro reglue it, or replace with new weather stripping trim? What glue is recommended?

thanks.

Ranier - I just found your post from almost a year ago about the weather strip coming off. Did you ever resolve this problem? Our 2008 CCD is having the same problems. I used contact cement to re-glue some strips but they are coming off again. I don't want to use liquid nails as that's permanent. Now the long 14' strip from side around back to other side has come loose and dragged on the road. I can't find where to buy this stuff. Did you replace or re-glue your strips and what luck did you have?

Thanks for any advice.

Same here on a 2007 Classic. I looked out the side view mirror and it was dragging on the ground. I really hate bashing Airstream on quality issues, but sorry, they deserve it. After inspecting the trim, it almost looks like it is fastened to the track with double sided tape. What a great idea! Hats off to the person who thought of it and to all those who approved implementing the brilliant idea!

I may use stainless steel metal screws and washers to put it back on, I'm not sure yet. I need to search around and see what others have done.

We also watched ours dragging on the ground; enough about AS quality control. I have since found you can buy it by the foot from AS but minimum order of 100 feet?? Which means we go to a dealer to get what we need. I have tried Contact Cement but it loosens when wet. I have a more permanent cement but am worried that if I ever needed to get it off it wouldn't. Sigh. I wonder if a clear caulking like bathroom caulk would work?

rubber trim

Gentlemen,
Correct me if I'm wrong but are you guys referring to the chrome beltline molding that goes around the entire trailer? If so I replaced it on my 2005 25ft Safari last year. I purchased it from Airstream Adventures Northwest for $1.74 per foot.

Here is what I did. It won't fall off again. 3/4 inch stainless steel trim screws spaced 16" apart. While I had the trim, off, I also replaced the rusted steel screws holding the track with stainless screws. It looks good, time will tell.
