1966 Overlander Factory Stripes

OK, I know on a 1966 International 26” Overlander the aluminum band from the backside of the flag around the back and to the flag on the other side is blue. The aluminum band that starts in front of the wheel well and around the back to the front side of the other wheel well is blue. The question I have is this:

Is any part of the “three rib” band across the front or rear sides or the single extra one band above the three ribbed one in the front suppose to be blue?

I figured out which bands are to be blue.

Also figured out a way to make them blue in less than ten minutes.

I went and ordered 3M 3/8ths wide blue vinyl pinstripe from the local autobody supply guys. Looks great, less than 10 minutes to put on.

This same solution should works for many trailers well up into the early 70's

Paul.

That has been tried many times before, and all were short lived.

Airstream did that during production, on those early models.

But, you never know.

Andy it was either that or lots of fine line tape and a rattle can.

For the cost and time it takes it seemed OK but I hope to someday take on the job of doing it the "right way" with the tape and paint.

Paul.

The "real" reason older guys buy an Airstream, is to have something to do.

LOTS OF IT.
