"nubby" was the original word.
Only one letter was changed to transform "nubby" to "bunny"...a "b" was changed to a "n". That's legal, right?

Doesn't matter if the word has a duplicate letter...the rule is only one letter can change. And only one letter was changed for "bunny"...so "bunny" is legal by your original rules!

OK - you make a good point - the rules can be interpereted either way. The intent of my original rules didn't take 2 of the same letter into consideration.
"nn" can be 2 letters - both being "n"
or "nn" can be one letter - an "n"
Actually, your interpretation is better - it does give us more flexibility.
