A break down of the word "ex-pert" also tells you the meaning of the word, ex- meaning former and [s]pert- meaning a drip under pressure, thus the meaning of expert: a former drip under pressure.

Dear Lord,
I pray for wisdom to understand my man; Love to forgive him; And patience for his moods; Because Lord, if I pray for strength, I'll beat him to death, because I don't know how to crochet.
