The two dishes -Chicken and Dumplins & Chicken and Biscuits- are similar, but with the first, the biscuit dough is cooked IN the gravy where in the second, the gravy is placed over the opened biscuit on the plate.

I use the same light biscuits for the shortcake, though there are many variations on this.

I do most of the "serious" cooking here because my wife of almost 39 years has developed early-onset dementia and can no longer do it.

Lobster, lobster, lobster. Maritimes (eh?- tongue in cheek)
.
Codybear....we must be related...in the past.
Hof brau is Germany and balance of menu is France. Paternal ancestors from Alcase Lorraine (excuse spelling) region of France which borders Germany. Ceded numerous times due to wars...Germany- France...France-Germany etc. etc. etc.

Airforce brat, posted to Zweibrucken in mid '60's. Very close to border with France. Been there, done that, love to do it again!

I did up a lamb roast on the grill with bake potato and corn. But we had to eat indoors because the Calif fires smoke is thick today. Picture taken at 7:30 pm. Dinner was good.
